MEMBERSHIP

Membership is classed into: Active, Associate, Emeritus, and Honorary.
Active Members:
May hold office, attend all executive sessions, serve on all committees, participate in all society transactions. They vote and pay modest dues. Active membership is limited to those who have served on Active duty or in the Medical Reserve Forces of one of the Uniformed Services in a consultant capacity. In cases of exceptional qualification or interest, others may be considered for Active Membership by the Society's Council.  As of January 1, 2011, all SMCAF members must be active members of AMSUS.
Associate Members:
Those of similar qualification to Active Members, currently on Active duty. They may attend executive sessions ad serve on Committees. They pay no dues and do not vote. On termination of Active Duty, Associates automatically become Active Members. It is the duty of the Associate to notify the Society of his/her status change.
Emeritus Members:
May be so categorized by the Council, at member request, because of retirement, illness, or other meriting circumstance.
Honorary Members
